Three years ago, I was thrilled to see a crazy dream I had come true—marching in the New York City St. Patrick’s Day Parade—this time under the banner of The Sober St. Patrick’s Day Foundation.
I say, “this time,” because in high school I competitively marched.
But in 2022 I was marching for me. For my family. For all those who have been impacted by addiction. I was marching to bring hope by encouraging all to consider a new way to celebrate this fun holiday where everyone wants to be Irish for a day—by being sober!
I invite you to read an article about my experience so you may understand what has motivated me, which will perhaps encourage you.

so that you may have this experience—it is free to march, but you must register.

Hi Pat! My husband is Kevin Walsh who you knew from Berkshire. I'd love to be in touch. I have a new memoir, just out (The Full Catastrophe: All I Ever Wanted, Everything I Feared) with topics I think would resonate with you (finding belonging after repeated loss, navigating uncertainty, and living with grief beside joy). I'll be at the Adirondack Center for Writing in Saranac Lake tomorrow evening, 3/19, and Kevin and I would love to see you! Feel free to get in touch at cmwalsh9702@gmail.com.
